Starting problem

Truck is not starting and also found a burned up rotor cap. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

Probably the shaft sealing could be bad.

If a bad distributer cap or rotor does not convey the high voltage to the correct spark plug lead at precisely the correct time the engine will not start. Even a hairline crack in cap can cause all kinds of problems , including misfires & no starts.
