Mazda rx8 2 rotor conversion

I have a question. If I had an rx8 3 rotor engine and I wanted to convert it to a 2 rotor besides needing to buy shaft, new manifolds, ECU, and a few other obvious things. Could I theoretically use the stock housing and just remove one of them?
