Engine Problem

Engine gets stalled inbetween and when it hesitates to start, the engine will not turn over. but engine can start it by pushing it. What could have gone wrong?

When your car engine starts but stops afterwards, whether immediately or after a few minutes, there could be one or more specific systems or components behind the failure. The ignition or injection system, a low idle speed in need of adjustment, a maladjusted carburetor, vacuum leaks, one or more bad sensors could be the reasons. Stalling can also happen under one or more operating conditions like say, the engine may stall as soon as it starts, or it may stall during idle or when warm, it may even stall intermittently under any condition. So the best way to start your diagnostic is to identify, when possible, the conditions under which the stalling occurs, and focus your attention on those systems or components associated with the failure under that particular condition. Consult your vehicle repair manual, if necessary.

The common causes for engine to stall could be an empty fuel tank, fuel mixture is not adequate, bad fuel pump, bad alternator, dead battery, clutch release problems, low fuel pressure, dirty air filter, faulty coolant sensor or corroded distributor cap.

Give a check on fuel pressure regulator.  Because this might cause engine to get stalled often.

Check your battery. If the battery is weak it won't be able to provide juice for the vehicle starter. Check your battery and your alternator coils. If the problem isn't solved.

Sometimes the problem may be related to fuel There are multiple issues related to fuel which might make the engine unable to start despite multiple cranks. These issues include insufficient amount of fuel in fuel tank, impurities present in the fuel, clogged fuel injector or damaged fuel pump.
