Differential noise

There is a grinding noise in the front differential in 1990 Suzuki Carry when in 4X4. Anyone know what could be the cause?

Most probable cause is the floating caliper frozen on the shafts and grinding away at the disc. Check the disc and see if there is any unusual wear on one side or the other. Try also to turn the wheel after jacking to get a feel for it. Check if the CV boots are cracked or torn. Most probably the brake caliper is hung up.
